Integration design of our THOR Systems / A-Frames onto a wide variety of vessels.
Our intimate knowledge, expertise and experience ensures that our integration design is safe, efficient and meets the requisite engineering standards.
Our experience allows us to conduct analysis and prepare for integration to demanding time schedules.
We are used to working with Classification Societies for integration design approval and package our designs for fast and comprehensive external audit/review.
Mobilisation / Installation
We have a team that specializes in the installation of our systems.
Usually we will utilise local labour to augment our specialist team and management personnel to ensure a successful, safe and expedient installation.
Hyperbaric Evacuation Planning and Training
We offer support in the development of hyperbaric evacuation plans and training in the execution of hyperbaric evacuation.
Our depth of experience wihtin this field ensures that your marine and diving personnel are most suitably equipped to tackle any hyperbaric emergency that may arise.
Prior to every saturation diving campaign, we strongly encourage the conduct of a full drill encompassing all elements of a hyperbaric evacuation plan.
Subsea/Offshore Engineering & Naval Architecture
We have significant experience and provide consulting services in:
Finite Element Analysis;
Active Heave Compensation and Constant Tension Systems;
Guide Wire System Design;
Naval Architecture; and
LARs, A-Frame, Winch and Offshore Crane Design
We specialise in the design of offshore lifting appliances; cranes, A-Frames, winches and davits for vessels.
We have close relationships with the key Classification Societies and in particular enjoy working with the following codes:
DNV (Det Norske Veritas) Standard for Certification No. 2.22 - Lifting Appliances;and
Lloyds Register - Code for Lifting Appliances in a Marine Environment.
We utilise sophisticated design tools including Finite Elements Analysis (FEA). Our design capability is augmented by years of operational experience gained from working within the subsea oil and gas industry. Some of our tools include:
Strand7 Finite Element Analysis (FEA);
Solidworks Simulation Premium - allowing highly dynamic FEA; and
Motion Control Systems
We have significant experience and capability in associated motion control systems including Active Heave Compensation and Constant Tension.
A-Frame / Heavy fabrication
Thrust Maritime has extensive experience in high specification, heavy fabrication to Classification Society requirements - our primary focus being the fabrication of our own A-Frames.
Having worked closely with DNV-GL, our welders are qualified to a variety of American Welding Society AWS D1.1 procedures. We have extensive experience and a myriad of qualified welding procedures for the welding of extremely high yield steels in particular Weldox 700; with yield at a minimum of 700MPa.
In addition to our fabrication capability, we have a very large (and modular) load testing bed which we use to conduct shore based load testing of our A-Frames.
Offshore Accommodation Modules
Although not our core focus, we have significant experience with the design and integration of offshore modular accomodation units (Containerised type) onto vessels.
Our most notable projects has been the Arkutun Dagi Accommodation module project, our scope included the design, management of fabrication, integration design and on-site integration of a 220 man accommodation complex. This was fully class certified to the ABS Temporary Accommodation Module Code.
Amazingly, the project from concept to the completion of installation (including module design and fabrication) was completed within 18 weeks.
Another notable project has been the INPEX accommodation module project which had a similar scope to the Arkutan Dagi project on another vessel.
