Engineering a Custom Tender Lift for Echo Yachts’ Superyacht Sailing Catamaran
From complex concepts to a tested and verified lifting solution, Thrust Maritime has designed and built a custom tender lift for Echo Yachts’ ASY57, a 57-metre sailing catamaran.
Engineered in-house, the stainless-steel system has a 17-tonne Safe Working Load and is designed to safely handle a 12-tonne fully outfitted tender and 5-tonne platform. Synchronised hydraulic cylinders provide controlled, smooth lifting and recovery during yacht operations.
The design was validated through advanced FEA modelling, motion analysis and detailed structural assessments, ensuring the system meets Lloyd’s Register lifting appliance requirements and the demanding operational load cases it will encounter in service.
Before installation, the tender lift underwent proof load testing at 21.5 tonnes, putting the system beyond its normal working load to validate its performance, reliability and safety.
The project marks another step for Thrust Maritime into the superyacht sector, applying the same engineering discipline and high-integrity approach that underpin our work across offshore, defence and oil and gas.
Designed, engineered and tested in Australia, the project is a strong example of Australian sovereign capability delivering for a demanding marine application.
