Thrust Maritime Awarded Project to Deliver Series of Advanced Sea Boat Davits

Thrust Maritime is proud to be delivering a series of purpose-designed sea boat davits. This project demonstrates the company's capability to engineer, manufacture and certify mission-critical marine handling systems for demanding offshore environments.

Designed for the launch and recovery of a fully laden sea boat up to 8.8 metres in length and weighing up to 4.6 tonnes, the davits are manufactured from ultra-high strength steel and are engineered to support intensive operational demands of up to 20 launch or recovery cycles per day, 150 days per year, across a 15-year design life.

The davits are to be designed, manufactured, tested and certified by Lloyd's Register in accordance with IMO SOLAS Chapter III, the LSA Code and Lloyd's Register Launch and Recovery Appliance Rules. Designed for safety and reliability.

The davits incorporate a fully redundant deployment system, combining powered hydraulic deployment with a stored-energy "black ship" capability to ensure safe operation in the event of power loss in the host vessel. A fail-safe dual-brake winch, manual unpowered emergency deployment and recovery system, hydraulic load holding and pressure release valves provide multiple layers of protection and operational assurance.

To maximise operability in challenging sea states, the system features an integrated shock load system that helps reduce wave-induced loads during launch and recovery. Hydraulically actuated guide rails minimise sea boat swing during deployment, while operators can control the system from both the vessel deck and the sea boat itself. Integrated cradle and deck extension structures further enhance functionality and vessel integration.
